My boss for my internship over at Tofu Girls (also one of my teachers at Otis) recommend me at a video game studio looking for someone to design props. I went to the studio today for an interview... Shortest interview in the history of the world, I guarantee. I hardly even had to talk. They grabbed my portfolio from me, flipped through it, and asked me when I could start. The only catch is that, since I don't know Flash, I have to take a test next Monday to see if I can learn/adapt to it, and if I pass, I get the job.

I'll be working only on Mondays, since I have no classes those days, and since I don't have a car I'll have to take the bus back and forth there. BUT, I don't mind, because with the money they'll be paying me, I can start saving up for my own car! I don't know if I'll have the time to work as a teacher aid again for life drawing, but I'm definitely going to try. Maybe not for 6 hours a week like last year, probably just three, not sure yet. I have to make sure I have time for homework and thesis, after all. I know a lot of students usually take on a job along with school, so I know I can do it!

Holy shit, that's fantastic! Best of luck!

I've only just now been getting industry jobs (I'm at one right now and I'm getting offers for elsewhere too). It's great to feel validated and to know you can do real-world work.

Thanks! I was really surprised by it, to be honest.

Oh heck yes! It's one thing when your peers or teachers tell you you're good, but a completely different thing when someone says they want to hire you to do something you love.
